After a period of inactivity, I am back again. Many things have been going on recently: I changed almost at once, computer, job and nation. A bit too much to keep posting to my phtoblogs. Now, I should be settled (at least for a little while). These people where attending an important ceremony in St Peter's square in Rome. Some tried to have a better look at the Pope by standing on the chairs, which seemed rather surreal.

The Bride

I am not quite sure whether this guy was interested in the wedding dress, which must be worth a fortune, for his future wife or just out of general interest. Certainly the dress was really beautiful and so much so that it was displayed in a room of its own. Actually, a guard was there all the time standng in a corner, probably to protect it from any overly enthusiastic prospective bride!

The outsider

A second image from the series of photos that I took at Valentino's exhibition. This is a group of luxurious black dresses which must have been commissioned by VIPs. The exhibition was rather crowded with people, most of whom where dressed in a completely different style from the one displayed, like the girl of this photo who seemed quite interested, and perhaps a bit doubtful, too!

This is one of a series of photos I took over the weekend at the exhibition celebrating 45 years of work of Valentino, the greatest Italian fashion designer. Set in the beautiful Ara Pacis museum in Rome (which is worth a visit anyhow), the exhibition displays over 360 beautiful clothes by the designer. An impressive body of work verging to art. An exhibition highly recommended to anyone interested in fashion design and also to those who are not. Meanwhile you can view a bit of it through my eye.
